The BTC Portal is a crypto and digital-asset news publication written for readers in the European Union. Coverage centres on European Union regulation — MiCA, ESMA, the European Central Bank and the national competent authorities of each member state — together with European exchanges and banks, and market events that have a direct read-across for holders in the EU. Prices and figures are given in euros.
What we publish
The desk produces two kinds of article, and the difference is stated on every page rather than left for the reader to work out. The first is original reporting written by this desk from a factual brief and credited to a named journalist. The second is reporting mirrored from a partner publication under a republication agreement, translated and localised for a European audience, and credited to the journalist who wrote the original.
Sponsored content, paid columns and signed opinion are not ingested at all. What appears here is news coverage.
Language editions
Every article exists in several language editions, each with its own URL and its own slug, linked to the others by hreflang. Language editions are translations of the same report, not different reports. The English edition is canonical: original articles are written in English first, and the other editions are translated from that article. Editions published today: English, Português, Español.
Translation is performed by machine and is labelled as such in the metadata of every translated page. Where an article is a translation of someone else's reporting, the original is linked.

If something published here is wrong, we want to know and we will correct it. The data we hold about subscribers is described in the privacy policy.

This site is built to be read by software as well as by people.
