Spain's securities regulator, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), has authorised Bit2Me STX, a subsidiary of Spanish crypto exchange Bit2Me, to operate its own exchange for tokenised securities under EU regulation. The company detailed the authorisation on 28 October 2026.
Bit2Me describes the new venue as "a regulated market infrastructure for the issuance, trading, custody and settlement of security tokens" — covering "traditional financial instruments—such as shares, corporate bonds or funds—that are issued, traded and settled natively through cryptocurrency networks".
The administrative resolution grants Bit2Me STX the power to manage financial instruments, act as the "entity responsible for inscription and registration", and custody or trade securities on behalf of third parties. According to the company, both the primary and secondary markets will run "under the authorization and supervision of the CNMV and aligned with European regulatory standards".
Trading without a break, settlement without a clearing house
The platform is designed to operate uninterrupted, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Instead of relying on traditional clearing houses, it uses smart contracts to achieve what Bit2Me calls instantaneous atomic settlement, in which payment and delivery of a security occur simultaneously. An external custodian guarantees the link to the conventional banking system by tokenising euro deposits, allowing the new infrastructure to interface with existing financial rails.
The authorisation builds on groundwork laid in 2025, when Bit2Me obtained a licence under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). According to CriptoNoticias, that made Bit2Me the first Spanish-speaking platform to secure MiCA authorisation.
First bond due in December, more assets planned for 2027
Bit2Me STX's inaugural offering will be a tokenised corporate bond worth €1 million, issued in partnership with the firm Valorix. The bond is structured for eligible investors under current rules and is scheduled to launch in December 2026, after which it is expected to trade on the secondary market.
The company plans to broaden the range of instruments on the exchange during 2027, with new issuances of shares, bonds and funds tied to companies in the technology, pharmaceutical, renewable energy and growth sectors. Any new asset will first need to clear an internal admissions committee before being incorporated onto the platform.
The move places Bit2Me among a small group of European crypto firms seeking to combine MiCA-licensed crypto infrastructure with CNMV-supervised securities markets, positioning tokenised bonds and equities as a bridge between regulated capital markets and blockchain-based settlement.
