AllUnity, a digital asset issuer based in Frankfurt, launched a new dollar-pegged stablecoin on September 30, 2026. The token, USDAU, is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and has been structured from the outset to comply with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, or MiCA.
AllUnity operates in the EU as an electronic money institution, authorised by BaFin, Germany's financial supervisor. That status underpins the design of USDAU, which is aimed exclusively at legal entities and corporate clients rather than the general public.
Reserves backing the token are held in segregated dollar bank accounts, with redemption guaranteed at par. This mechanism is built around Article 49 of MiCA, which sets out redemption rights for stablecoin holders. AllUnity has also published a white paper for USDAU, as required under Article 51 of the regulation.
Six networks at launch
USDAU went live simultaneously on six blockchain networks: Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc and Polygon. AllUnity said it intends to add further networks over the course of the year.
For authorised institutional clients, minting and redemption of USDAU through a business account carries no fee. Other corporate users will access the token through exchanges and commercial partners rather than directly with the issuer.
The launch involves a set of specialised partners. Banking Circle acts as reserve custodian and transaction banking provider. Flowdesk supplies liquidity. Archax enables treasury issuance and redemption functions, while Hercle manages fiat off-ramps for the token.
The MiCA backdrop
MiCA took effect across the bloc on July 1, 2026, establishing a single legal framework for stablecoins and other crypto-assets across all 27 EU member states. Under the regulation, platforms operating in the bloc must align with standards comparable to traditional banking or stop serving European residents.
That requirement has already reshaped the stablecoin market in Europe. USDT, the world's leading stablecoin by circulation, became restricted for European citizens as issuers and platforms adjusted to MiCA's compliance demands.
USDAU arrives into that gap as a dollar-denominated alternative built specifically to satisfy MiCA's reserve, redemption and disclosure rules, positioning AllUnity as a regulated option for corporate clients seeking dollar exposure without stepping outside the bloc's new rulebook.
